If you have a spade and a drill, you are halfway to fitting your brand-new WPC fence, gate, or decking!

There might be a little more to it than that, but composite products don’t require any specialist skill or knowledge.

With basic tools, the right screws, and the ability to ensure your fence posts are level, your project will soon take shape.

Composite boards can be fitted between existing concrete posts and brick pillars, or you can opt for composite posts, to give a more uniform appearance. Either way, you can create a stunning new look in next to no time.

Your ten-step guide to a new composite fence

1. Planning

Determine the layout of your fence and mark the locations for the fence posts. Ensure they are evenly spaced and aligned in a straight line. Check local regulations for fence height and placement restrictions.
Calculate the number of fence panels and posts you’ll need based on your measurements.

Decide if you want to have your fence panels vertical or horizontal.

Vertical installation of fence boards can lead to creep, especially when the sunlight on both sides of the board is different, resulting in different temperatures on both sides of the board.

We recommend installing fence board horizontally, so there will be almost no creep phenomenon.

If you prefer to install your boards vertically, our aluminium alloy crossbars can be used, this will help stop nearly all board creep.

2. Prepare the Ground

Clear the area of any debris, rocks, or vegetation where the fence will be installed.
If you’re using concrete for post anchors, dig holes for the fence posts. The depth of the holes should be determined by local building codes and the height of your fence.

3. Install the Posts

Place the fence posts in the holes or post anchors.
Use a level to ensure the posts are plumb (vertically straight).
If using concrete, fill the holes with concrete mix, following the manufacturer’s instructions. Allow the concrete to cure before proceeding.

4. Attach Brackets

Attach fence brackets to the posts at the appropriate height for your fence panels. Make sure the brackets are level and evenly spaced.

5. Cut and Install Fence Panels

Measure and cut the composite fence panels to the desired height and width if needed.
Slot the fence panels into the brackets on the posts, ensuring they are level and evenly spaced.
Secure the fence panels to the brackets using screws or fasteners. Make sure they are snug but not overtightened to allow for thermal expansion and contraction.

6. Repeat the Process

Continue installing fence panels between the posts until you’ve covered the entire fence line.

7. Install Post Caps

Place post caps on top of each fence post for a finished look. Secure them with screws or adhesive.

8. Check and Adjust

Double-check that the fence panels are level and aligned properly.
Make any necessary adjustments to ensure a straight and aesthetically pleasing fence.

9. Finishing Touches

Trim any excess material from the fence panels or posts if needed.
Clean the fence to remove any dirt or debris.

10. Maintenance

One of the advantages of composite fencing is its low maintenance. Periodically, clean the fence with mild soap and water to keep it looking its best.
